Terre Haute students raise money for The Villages

Students at Terre Haute North Vigo High School showed their support for The Villages services and programs by hosting a fundraising event.  The students, who participate in the school’s DECA program, selected The Villages as the recipient of funds raised during DECA’s annual dinner and silent auction. The event culminates a series of fundraising activities the students have hosted throughout the year to support The Villages.

Among the many speakers at the event were a foster parent from The Villages and a participant in The Villages’ Older Youth Services Program. Cassie, picture right, discussed how the OYS staff helped her gain confidence and provided opportunities to gain leadership skills. Mandy, a foster parent, shared her journey growing up with parents who opened their home to vulnerable children and how she is following in their footsteps. She shared how The Villages team in Terre Haute has provided ongoing support since she committed to foster parenting.
