Board Spotlight: Matt & Sally Dunn

Indianapolis couple Matt and Sally Dunn are committed to service, especially when it comes to supporting children in need of loving homes.
Matt, a home builder, was introduced to The Villages through his father, Steve, who served on The Villages’ Board of Directors. Matt has been on The Villages’ Annual Golf Classic committee for four years and served as the Chairman of the committee for the last two years. Sally, a registered nurse at Riley Hospital for Children, also volunteers and supports programs for The Villages through her leadership on The Villages Young Professionals Advisory Board, that both she and Matt joined following a community event in May of 2016.
Matt and Sally agree it’s the overwhelming need in Indiana for the services The Villages provides that keeps them passionate about serving for the organization.”Meeting and hearing stories of young adults who have found success and stability with the assistance of The Villages is validation of the incredible people and programs the organization provides,” Matt said.
Matt and Sally shared more about volunteering and their commitment to The Villages.
What has been your most rewarding experience serving The Villages? Sally: Through my work at Riley Hospital for Children I have had the opportunity to care for children and families who receive services through The Villages. I have witnessed the incredible impact the organization’s services can make.
As Chairman of The Villages’ Annual Golf Classic, what would you like to share about this event and the impact funds raised can have for children and families at The Villages? Matt: The Villages Golf Classic will be held on Thursday, Sept. 28th at Broadmoor Country Club. Thanks to the many generous sponsors, we are on track for a very successful event to raise significant dollars which will be used to further support The Villages’ programs and services. While the fundraising aspect is important, the Golf Classic also serves as a great opportunity for a day of fellowship with others who care deeply about child welfare.
One thing we would like for people to know about The Villages is… You do not have to adopt or foster a child to make a difference in the lives of children served by The Villages. There are so many opportunities to support The Villages’ mission through participation in events, monetary donations, in-kind gifts, household item donations or volunteering your time.
