Volunteer Spotlight: Tiaundra Foster, Young Professionals Advisory Board
The Villages of Indiana is grateful for volunteers like Tiaundra Foster, an attorney at Krieg DeVault LLP. Foster has served on The Villages’ Young Professionals Advisory Board for two years. Her primary role on the board is assisting with fundraising events, such as serving as a team captain for the annual Matt Breman Memorial Run 4Kids in April.
“The YPAB has great leadership that finds effective and feasible ways to raise funds for the organization,” Foster says. “The group makes it easy for its members to get involved with fundraising, and the events are always a lot of fun.”
Foster, who has always had a passion for giving back to the community, knew The Villages was a great fit after meeting with some of the YPAB board members to learn more about The Villages mission. In addition to her fundraising efforts, Foster also volunteers throughout the year. Her most rewarding experiences have been making holiday art with children at The Villages’ annual holiday party and leading donation efforts at Krieg DeVault for toys to give to children in foster care.
Foster believes strongly that community support is vital for the development of children in foster care. “The lives of these children have been disrupted often due to abuse and neglect,” Foster says. “The support from the foster parents, The Villages staff members, volunteers, and the community is extremely important and makes a difference in the lives of the foster children.”
