Family Connection Network – Angela

Angela has been a Family Connection Network participant since 2016. When she signed on she had already adopted her two granddaughters at ages 18 months and 3 years. The girls had already spent a year in foster care due to their parents’ struggle with mental health.

Angela was anxious about parenting a second time around and was hoping to find support from other who were caring for relative children. Angela says being a part of The Villages Family Connection Network helped her “put things into perspective.”  Participating in FCN helps remind her that’s she’s not alone and can literally depend on not only her village, but The Villages for support.”

Angela’s granddaughters are now 9 and 13. The family continues to participate in the Family Connection Network, benefiting from the many resources and supports offered through the program.
