The Villages of Indiana seeks community support for foster youth and families this holiday season
INDIANAPOLIS—Nov. 3, 2025 — The Villages of Indiana, one of the state’s largest private therapeutic foster care providers, invites Indiana communities to spread joy by supporting the 3,500 children and youth served by the agency each day. The Villages offers several ways for Hoosiers to get involved and give back this holiday season.
“Each year, we’re overwhelmed by the generosity of Hoosiers who open their hearts to support children and families served by The Villages,” says Shannon Schumacher, president and CEO of The Villages of Indiana. “Gift cards to major retailers like Walmart, Meijer, Target, and Amazon continue to be the most requested items from teens and older youth. While gift cards may seem impersonal, they actually provide a powerful sense of choice, allowing young people to select something meaningful for themselves. Whether through our Amazon Holiday Wish List, sponsoring a family, or organizing a gift drive, every act of giving helps foster youth and families feel seen, valued, and supported during the holidays.”
