It’s a Merry Holiday Season Because of YOU!
Dear Friend of Children,
The Kokomo and Lafayette Offices hosted a phenomenal “Movie Morning” with open house at the AMC Kokomo Showplace 12. The staff joined the children to watch “Wreck It Ralph 2,” while our dedicated foster parents enjoyed the new hit movie “Instant Family.” Afterward, families came together for a Holiday Open House at The Villages office that included gifts and cookies.
The Villages Central Indiana Region team hosted a Christmas party with a record 318 people in attendance. Santa and Mrs. Claus joined the group at Primo Banquet Center. The afternoon included crafts and gifts for every child in attendance!
The Villages Family Connection Network, our sixteen-year-old Kinship Care Support program, honored more than 65 heroic grandparents and kinship caregivers who are parenting “the second time around.” The Eli Lilly Legal Team volunteers team hosted a dinner that featured favorites including fried chicken, mashed potatoes, pie and brownies. There were endless games and mini-Christmas tree decorating for the children.
Still to come during the holiday break, a bowling and pizza Christmas party for 140 Villages Transitional Living Youth in the Fort Wayne area. Thanks to YOU they will leave with donated gift cards and special items to make their homes a little bit homier.
These joyful holiday memories are made possible because of YOUR huge hearts for The Villages children, youth and families! You have contributed thousands of amazing new Christmas gifts, 400 pairs of new pajamas, 300 Disney books, delicious food and snacks, diapers and formula, Christmas decorations to brighten a home, and invaluable gift cards.
Helen Keller shared a quote, years ago, “What we have once enjoyed, we never lose!” The 3,000 children and youth The Villages is honored to serve each and every day sometimes don’t have a lot of joy in their lives. YOU have made certain that we can bring joy and create memories they’ll never lose during this holiday season.
