Step Up for Indiana’s Kids!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 18, 2026, for the Steps for Prevention Run/Walk formerly known as The Matt Breman Run. Our name may be changing, but this annual event continues to honor Matt’s incredible spirit and the ongoing work of Prevent Child Abuse Indiana.

Whether you run, walk, or cheer from the sidelines, your support fuels vital programs like Water Safety and Internet Safety. We’re aiming for $30,000 this year to help Prevent Child Abuse Indiana (PCAIN) build better childhoods across the state.

Matt Breman

The Matt Breman Run was created to honor the life and legacy of Matt Breman, a devoted advocate for children, accomplished attorney, and passionate runner. Matt’s commitment to service led him to Prevent Child Abuse Indiana, where he served on the board and later as President, championing the belief that every child deserves a safe and nurturing childhood.

After his untimely passing, Matt’s colleagues at Krieg DeVault sought a meaningful way to honor his impact and the causes he cared deeply about. In 2006, they established the Matt Breman Run, bringing together Matt’s love of running and his dedication to protecting children. Today, the run continues to unite the community in support of Indiana’s children while carrying forward Matt’s enduring legacy.
