Diaper Day 2026

The Villages of Indiana to Host Diaper Day on March 12

Goal is to collect more than 35,000 diapers for families in need; Community encouraged to organize diaper drives NOW to help fill the growing need

INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 5, 2026) – The Villages of Indiana will host its annual Diaper Day on Thursday, March 12, 2026 with a goal of collecting more than 35,000 diapers for families across Indiana who cannot afford this essential necessity for their babies.

For many parents, diapers are an overwhelming monthly expense. Babies require up to 12 diaper changes per day, costing families an estimated $80 to $100 per month, and are not an item covered by assistance programs such as WIC or SNAP.

“Many of the families we assist, particularly through our Healthy Families program, struggle to buy diapers and are often forced to make an impossible decision between purchasing diapers or paying for groceries, gas, or other necessities,” said Shannon Schumacher, president and CEO of The Villages of Indiana. “While it may seem like a small gesture, having a steady supply of diapers significantly reduces stress and provides stability for parents who are already facing significant challenges.”

Diaper Day is a statewide diaper drive supporting families involved in foster care, The Villages’ Healthy Families program, and for children of youth who have aged out of the system. In 2025, The Villages served more than 2,200 families through Healthy Families, nearly all with children still in diapers.

The Villages is encouraging community members, businesses, schools, churches, and organizations to get involved by donating diapers or organizing diapers drives leading up to March 12.

Diapers can be purchased and delivered in multiple ways:

  1. Purchase diapers through The Villages’ Amazon wish list.
  2. Purchase diapers through another online retailer and have them shipped directly to: 3833 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46208
